Along with the Giving Club which is made up of private citizens, the Bethlehem Police Mounted Patrol Unit would also like to acknowledge companies, businesses, foundations, and non-profits who support our program through four levels of generous support. For their financial donations, in-kind donations, sponsorship, and support, we humbly provide these Corporate Community Partners with small tokens of our gratitude for their continued generosity. In addition, Community Partners of the different donation levels will be recognized on plaques displayed in our stable. Unless they wish to remain anonymous, donors will be listed by name and year of donation. The levels are as follows.

Walking Partners
Walking Partners have donated $250 to $1,499 to the Mounted Unit. Donors in this group will receive a thank-you letter, along with an unframed 5″ x 7″ photograph of the horses.

Trotting Partners
Trotting Partners have donated $1,500 to $2,999 to the Mounted Unit. Donors in this group will receive a thank-you letter, along with a plaque containing a 5″ x 7″ photograph of the horses with the donation level and year of donation.

Galloping Partners
Galloping Partners have donated $3,000 to $4,999 to the Mounted Unit. Donors in this group will receive a thank-you letter, a plaque containing an 8″ x 10″ photograph of the horses with a personalized engraved section, and recognition on this website.

SPECIAL PROGRAM PARTNERSHIPS

In the Summer of 2011 Wells Fargo Bank N.A. graciously donated money to cover the cost of a three-horse trailer that allows the Mounted Unit to increase their flexibility during patrol and deployments. The trailer was unveiled at Coca Cola Park, home of the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, on July 14th before a sold out double-header. We thank Wells Fargo for their continued support of the horses and the entire Bethlehem City Police Department.

During the Summer of 2011 The HOOFS Fund generously provided funding for the purchase of nine Cush-N-Aire saddle pads. The pads provide cushioned support for Raven, Pharaoh, and George’s backs while allowing versatility with the addition of attached saddle and cantle bags. The pads can be cleaned with cold water from a garden hose and with the purchase of three per horse it allows the use of a clean saddle pad on patrol which reduces the frequency of back soreness and skin irritation. Please visit The HOOFS Fund website and donate. Your support helps the Bethlehem Mounted Unit as well as other mounted units across the globe.

Since the Unit’s rebirth they have been provided a stable at Burnside Plantation, a member of Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites, at no cost. The symbiotic relationship provides the Unit with a home while returning Burnside Plantation to its roots as a working farm. The horses are present during various educational school tours, Open Gate tours, and the Annual Blueberry Festival. If you are looking for a fabulous backdrop for a party, get-together, or wedding the Plantation is available to book for the special occasion. Without the help of Burnside Plantation and Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites, Bethlehem’s Mounted Unit would have never been reformed.

truck complete

In the spring of 2013, with the help of one anonymous donor and the donors listed below, the Mounted Unit was able to add a brand new truck to tow their three horse trailer.  The new truck, a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD crew cab, allows for increased towing capacity, heavy duty brakes, and increased occupancy while replacing the Unit’s thirteen year old existing hauler. It allows for safer towing of the Unit’s three horse trailer and eliminates the need for using an additional police vehicle when going to public events with the horses by increasing from a two to a six passenger truck.

The truck  was purchased entirely through organization and corporate donations by the following donors.

We look forward to working with all the donors in the future and again thank them for their commitment to the Bethlehem community. Their donations help keep Bethlehem safe one hoof at a time.
